Final update from new WP-Remix owner
Please see the updated comment below for the latest on the WP-Remix issue. – 28 July 2009
Another update to this Post
This post was updated about a year ago since posting the original in May 2008. I’ve written another post about the issue discussed below and seeing this particular post has shed alot of negative light on the WP-Remix theme I wanted to provide some updated info. See the following post which mentions how the WP-Remix theme has been updated. Hope it solves the problems. – July 2009
Post update – 25 May – R Bhavesh has finally contacted me and sent me a refund notification. He says the plugin to easily edit the static content was never part of the cost of the theme.
If anyone is able to assist in adding functionality to wpremix theme, making certain content fields in the html templates editable through the post editor, contact R Bhavesh to discuss. He said he’s looking for someone.
There are many fantastic premium wordpress themes available online, and many trustworthy wordpress theme developers who will go the extra mile to make sure you’re happy with their products.
I’ve been eyeing the WPRemix theme for a while and finally worked up the motivation to purchase it. It’s a theme which I promises to deliver a framework for developing wordpress based cms sites.
“One Master Theme,Unlimited Possibilities” it says
the site also has a nice catchy line –
“Unleash The Power of WordPress blog CMS!” Yeah right.
Imagine my surprise when I realised the endless possibilities of the various templates depends on you having to edit the html manually to insert content. I mean, really, what’s the point then. The many homepage layouts contain static code which cannot be edited through wordpress’ post or paging system and no sidebars.
I was furious, conned. I did a few searches and quickly found many disgruntled buyers who apparently have been trying to contact R. Bhavesh (the genius behind this sneaky scheme) and not managed to get hold of him or a refund.
Remix Editor Plugin
It turns out the vision was to have a remix edit plugin(page does not exist any longer), which never worked so well and was removed from the package, leaving behind a set of static templates. I contacted the developer with no response to date. He’s still selling the theme as if all is well.

I had a similar problem/issue when buying his theme and regretted the purchase ever since. I’ve posted many questions, with no answer, no support…nothing. I see that he has launched another site which has an affiliate program..it makes me feel a bit iffy about joining.

Nur I didn’t know about this. I’ve purchased the Revolution developer pack and it’s really worth the money. I had a small question once and the creator emailed within the hour. I’ve had nothing but utter satisfaction.
Sorry for your loss and I hope no one else is conned by that guy.
Paul Welch says
Same problems. He has actually quickly responded to 2 of my 4 questions. It seems like if he knows the answer he replies, if he doesn’t he goes silent. The odd thing is I asked my questions on his blog, but he won’t post the questions or the answers which might help others….
Odd duck.

I just purchased this yesterday and I love it. He had on the blog that the editor didn’t work and that it was removed and he’s been answering all of my emails in less than 5 minutes.
Personally, I don’t mind the manual editting. My sister (who’s in charge of updating) doesn’t know how to do anything except post so its less of a hassle wondering about if she’s gonna screw something up while I’m away.

I too purchased the WPRemix2 theme about a week ago. I’m convinced this is just a huge scam. This new theme doesn’t work at all, and there is no support. There is a support forum where you can talk to all the other people who purchased the non-functional product. And if you post about the huge backdoor/security problems with functional installations, your post will just get deleted. I’m still waiting for my refund.
WPRemix Is Crap says
I wish I’d seen this before I bought it! I got conned too and PayPal can’t force a refund because it’s a good not a service. He refuses to answer any of my emails. There’s more than one way to recoup the loss though…by sharing. If anybody wants it, download it free here ##### (Download link removed by admin)

WP-REMIX is a ridiculously misleading product. I’m currently trying to get my $75 back from them. I am considering legal action. Anyone else want their money back too? I could put together a class action lawsuit if enough people agree to submit their testimony (in writing).
Also, I suggest filing “wire fraud” complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and product misrepresentation/”false advertising” with the better business bureau.
You can file your complaints online at (they will contact wp-remix for you):
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
and
http://welcome.bbb.org
I’m basically giving the WPREMIX guys 24hrs to resolve my problem or else I’m going to see how far I can take this. I will likely make my own blog about it (not using their product!). I’ve agreed to give them 24hrs to respond and refund… If I don’t get my money back, then I’m going to turn into a pit bull. I’ll make it my new hobbie.

I got suckered into this WP-REMIX too. Support is a joke and the product itself is very unreliable. I have wasted many hours trying to fix things that were promised in the advertising.
One day, maybe this template will be a good thing. But not today.
Don’t waste your time.

We’ve been pretty satisfied with remix theme, but then again we live and breath wordpress. It is def. not for the faint of heart or nubey blogger. It takes a bit of tweaking, but once you are there it’s AOK.

Bought this a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to get my head round it.
It some ways it’s great, but it does seem pretty clunky and the thought of letting an in-experienced end-user loose on it is making me think again.
The site that I’m using it for can be seen at http://test05.lightbeingcreations.org
Any suggestions on alternatives?

So I finally gave up as well. I FULLY understood that the theme requires you to edit the css quite a bit to even create pages. The problem is that the basic page creation Editor that is built into WPREMIX JUST DOESNT FUNCTION. Pages break, divs start showing up all over the place, and after 2 solid days of trying to get the product to work, I realize its just not worth it.
To make matters worse.. I tried getting support.. but the Support Forum only intermittently functions (or they are deleting posts)

My name is Randy Brown
I am the current Moderator of the WPRemix Support Forum. I am not a Remix employee.
I run a tight ship and provide support to many satisfied customers. If you visit the forum as it is now you will find all the proof you need to verify this claim.
There have been difficulties with the theme in the recent past which have been addressed and vastly improved since the last post above mine here.
One problem that still plagues us is a quirky purchase/download process through e-junky. I make no excuses with regards to this, all I can say is this is being fixed.
The theme can still be easily obtained through myself when contacted in the support forum.
I answer questions on average in less than an hour, many in less than 20 minutes.
RB Havesh no longer owns the theme it has been acquired by R5Ltd out of the UK.
Improvements with the changing of management has transpired, but still there are a few kinks to work out in the purchase process and theme. But neither one of these issue prevent the product from performing as advertised or delivered after the purchase.
Customer expectations are still typical in the WordPress world of site/blog creation.
Many problems stem from an unrealistic belief that WordPress is somehow an infallible solution that only requires the user to be a able to work a WYSIWYG editor with out ever touching code.
Anyone who is truly familiar with WordPress knows this is not true.
With this fact and the other variables of third paqrty plug-ins as well as Hosting requirements not all being equal it is easy to lay the Blame on the theme, whether it is Remix or not.
An example of this is the lady who contacted me in our support forum who said the theme did not work after she installed it with the WordPress browse for a file button under the insert an image function.
Often I deal with individuals who struggle with the basic understanding of a simple path structure, not on a HOST server mind you but local on their computer.
WordPress and the third party plug-ins as well as all the theme developers out there are great exciting stuff. But that ease of website creation nirvana we all search for is still out of reach for many different reasons, of which the WPRemix theme shares the responsibility for no less than any other theme or solution.
I welcome any and all comments for a truly unfettered discussion via email, skype or phone if in the US, to discuss the features, benefits and limitations of the WPRemix theme.

I am thinking of purchasing this product. I noticed the last post was 5/5/2009
Have the Remix theme issues been resolved?
Thank you
John

To the best of my knowledge, the WP-Remix product was taken over by someone who has since not developed it any further and has allowed the project and it’s website to become stagnant. I would not recommend making any further use of this template
